TEHRAN, Feb. 22 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian says that the relations between Iran and Hungary are on the right track.

The top Iranian diplomat made the remarks in a joint press conference with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto on Thursday evening.

The Iranian foreign minister also announced the signing of two strategic documents and a roadmap for agricultural cooperation during the latest Joint Economic Commission session held earlier in the day.

All dimensions of cooperation in the fields of science, technology, agriculture, water management, health, industry, energy, student exchange and tourism were the focus of the meeting of the joint economic commission of the two sides, he said.

Amir-Abdollahian added that he had frank discussions with Szijjarto regarding Iran's rationale for supporting Palestine.

I urged him that Hungary should do everything in its power to stop the war in Gaza and help return stability and security to the region, he added.

“We also emphasized the need to end the crisis in Ukraine through diplomacy and negotiation”, he continued.

Szijjarto, for his part, stressed the need for diplomacy, especially in the situation the world is facing today to resolve issues and problems.

He said Hungary and Iran have mutual respect for each other but warned that the escalation of tension in West Asia can cause many problems for the whole world.
